Light of different wavelengths is emitted to target melanin or vascular lesions, then the targeted lesion is destroyed and naturally removed from the skin, making it disappear or less noticeable from the skin surface.
Depends on how deep your pigmentation or vascular lesion is. Many people see improvement just after 1 treatment. The average number of treatment required is 3-5 sessions performed monthly.
A goggle will be given to protect your eyes from bright flash of light emitted from Lumecca™. During the procedure, IPL gel will be applied on the treatment areas, then the handpiece will be gently placed on the skin. The handpiece will be moved around until all the areas are treated. The treatment is usually done in 30 minutes.
Usually there is little to no downtime associated with our Lumecca™ treatment. As a reminder, in the first 2-3 days after the treatment, you might see a darkening of pigmented spots, then it will flake off. During this time, we recommend you to avoid direct sunlight and heat inducing activities.
